HACKATHON CREATIV
“For the production of local kits against COVID-19, and living in a post-COVID world, innovative educational products and produts that facilitate communal development” http://hack237promud.strikingly.com
The main objective of this activity is to identify the best innovative start-ups to tender for the capacity building of MakerSpaces supported by PROMUD following by the production of locally prototyped innovative kits against COVID-19 pandemic, innovative educational kits and innovative kits for rural development.
At the end of the hackathon it is expected that at least 03 Start-ups working on the design and production of innovative kits against pandemics such as COVID-19 and for educational purposes are jointly identified by PROMUD, MINDDEVEL, MINPOSTEL and ActivSpaces.
The step after the hackathon is to lunch a restrictive call for tenders to select one among the identified start up (according to GIZ standards) to porotype and produce COVID and educational kits as part of capacity building process of makerspaces established with the support of PROMUD.
Introduction to Hackathon Creative
The Support Program for Municipal Development (PROMUD) is an initiative of the German-Cameroon Cooperation. It is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ), under the supervision of the Ministry of Decentralization and Local Development (MINDDEVEL). Its objective is to support partner communes so that they can better invest in their roles for local development in partnership with state actors, civil society, and the private sector.
As part of the implementation of the second phase of PROMUD, its field of intervention dedicated to the implementation of innovative ICT solutions in communities, especially in rural areas (Smart Communities), will continue to support the creation of “Makerspaces” in telecentres or multimedia centres within partner municipalities. The aim is to stimulate creative and innovative collaborative approaches for local crafts people, electronic thinkers, young thinkers, and the community members in general to design, model and prototype objects that meet the ecological, social, and economic needs of their locality. Considering the concentration of such collaborative spaces in urban areas, strengthening the rural-urban collaboration is one of key element to foster the success of this initiative to support local development with local developed solutions.
The context of the global COVID pandemic has made clear the importance to have local response to face or attenuate effects of problems affecting local population.
It is in this line that this creative hackathon activity has been initiated to encourage and support local ideation and manufacturing, with the theme of creating objects in response to the COVID pandemic and to support the educational sector in rural areas as well as rural development in large.

Serviettes hygiéniques réutilisables
There are a lot of people who are in need of things which others have in surplus. Project samaritan is a platform to help connect those who need these items with those who have. Items include food, clothes, shoes, bags, ...

S.A.S COVID

Design THINKING
Design thinking has a human-centered core. It encourages organizations to focus on the people they're creating for, which leads to better products, services, and internal processes. When you sit down to create a solution for a business need, the first question should always be what's the human need behind it?
In employing design thinking, you’re pulling together what’s desirable from a human point of view with what is technologically feasible and economically viable. It also allows those who aren't trained as designers to use creative tools to address a vast range of challenges. The process starts with taking action and understanding the right questions. It’s about embracing simple mindset shifts and tackling problems from a new direction.
Why Is Design Thinking Important?
It can help you or your team surface unmet needs of the people you are creating for.
It reduces the risk associated with launching new ideas.
It generates solutions that are revolutionary, not just incremental.
It helps organizations learn faster.Digital PRINCIPLES
Nine “living” guidelines designed to help digital development practitioners integrate established best practices into technology-enabled programs.
The Principles are not meant to be stagnant, nor compulsory. They are a set of living guidance intended to help practitioners succeed in applying digital technologies to development programs. Over time, the Digital Principles may change as they are updated and modified to fit specific contexts and environments. The Digital Principles community plays a key role in ensuring the Principles are still relevant and useful.

With the advent of accessible digital technology more than a decade ago, international development organizations began seeking new ways of including digital tools in their programming for improved outcomes. These efforts were initially quite successful; significant advancements occurred in various sectors such as health and agriculture, more communities around the globe were connected, and underserved populations were reached in a way that had not been possible before. However, some digitally-enabled programs failed – and quite often that failure was for reasons that were both predictable and preventable.
